Katy earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology and certification of Animal and Human Health Interaction from the University of Denver. She is passionate about utilizing animal assisted therapy while working with children and families and believes that building a connection between animals and ourselves allows us to truly see the good in ourselves and provides comfort while working through hard topics and trauma.

 

Katy has been working with children and families for 6 years in various settings including public schools, residential and outpatient settings, day treatment programs, and child advocacy centers. Katy brings empathy and connection to each of her sessions. Katy utilizes a trauma informed, psychodynamic, and Neurosequential approach to provide therapeutic support to children and families. In her free time, Katy enjoys being outside with her animals, hiking, skiing, and reading.
